Have you ever felt like you wanted to go home- but you were already 'home'?
Have you ever felt so lonely that you looked for your shadow in the dark?
Have you ever felt so tired that you didn't even have the energy to fall asleep?
Have you ever felt so much pain that you could pour salt on a wound and feel relieved?
Have you ever felt like you were so clingy that even duct tape would be sick of you?

There's a very old memory I have of an aunt.
She was a great aunt, possibly the only good aunt I had on my father's side of the family.
I remember her telling me something that opened my eyes.
Not at the time, no, I didn't understand it. I only understood it after she died.
But she told me, "You don't have to hate me just because your daddy do."
And after she died, it made me realize just how manipulative he was.
I had ignored her, even gave her dirty looks, just because he was on bad terms with her.
But I wasn't. What was my excuse?
It could be that I was a stupid, gullible child, but that's not a real excuse. I don't have one.
